Custom-made lettering Poster
Thumbnails and sketching
Beginning the process with thumbnails, bringing small composition ideas to paper, implementing my design guidelines.
Next was choosing my favourite and continuing with more detailed sketches, developing the lettering composition to a final form.

From sketches to vector graphics
Turning the sketch into digital vector graphic followed, adding the rest of the composition decorative elements in and around the letters:
- The stem of the P became the sword. A vertical line emphasises the blade.
- The protection part of the grip became the “S” of Saul symbolising the change of name.
- The drop-terminals of the letter S implies the connection to music symbols.
- The book at the bottom could be Paul’s preachings or the music partitur.
In the final version of the poster “Opus 36” is using the periodic medieval text figures. (lowercase).

Final artwork
To finalise the poster I chose the color palette and added artwork:
The background is a parchment paper coloured in brown tint, giving it an old look.
The letters are embossed giving the inscription character.
The Logo of the church and the concert information were placed around the main design lettering element.
